What To Bring
- Travel insurance is compulsory to go on this trip.
- Cool, loose comfortable clothing. (Preferably cotton, you won’t want anything synthetic in the humid weather).
- Flat comfortable sandals or thongs/flip flops
- You may wish to bring a pair of sneakers if you want to do the Campuchan Ridge Walk.
- Hat, sun screen.
- Bathers (swimwear).
- Any medical supplies you require, (eg paracetamol).
- Waterless hand sanitiser.
- Insect repellent.
- Personal care items, toiletries. (please note sanitary items such as tampons are more expensive in Bali)
- Camera or a phone that takes photos, spare battery and charger.
- International electrical plug adapter , Bali uses the same plug as Europe.
- Optional – an iPad/tablet/laptop if you have one, it is quite useful for photo references but not necessary if you have your phone.
- Money – The easiest way to manage money in Bali is to use a VISA or Mastercard debit card and withdraw Indonesian Rupiah from ATMs in Ubud as needed. It is also advisable to carry a credit card as a backup. Many travellers also find the Wise card a convenient option, as it allows you to hold multiple currencies and withdraw cash at competitive exchange rates.
Please note that for many countries, including Australia, your bank may block overseas transactions unless you notify them before travelling. We recommend checking with your bank prior to departure to avoid any issues accessing funds while in Bali.
- You will need to purchase Visa on arrival 500 000 INR. There are ATMs available at the airport, the airport takes many currencies including AUS$ and US$ or now you can do online before you go.
- Duty Free Drinks – Optional if you enjoy wine with a meal you may wish to bring a bottle, prices for wine in Bali are higher because it is an imported product. (Local spirits and beer are a more cost effective option.) Bring safely packed in your checked-in luggage, You are permitted to bring one litre of alcohol per adult into Bali.
Note: all art materials for the workshop are supplied, unless you want to bring some extra things. (in the past watercolour artists have sometimes brought their own watercolours)
