Seven nights at the ARMA Resort.

Arrive Monday 5th January 2026

Depart Monday 12th January 2026

Hand-woven Traditional Balinese Box - with all your Linocut Materials (included in the workshop)

Classes run from 9:30am to 4:00pm. After 4:00pm your time is your own. You can easily catch a Grab Car (the Asian version of Uber) into the Ubud town centre, where you can explore shops and restaurants. There are also several good resturants walking distance from our accomodation. If you’d prefer to stay in there are two restaurants within the resort and room service is available (not included).

Arrival Day (Monday 5th January 2026)

Arrival:

Please email your flight number and arrival time to Shana to organise an ARMA driver to collect you from the airport. It is advised that you plan to arrive at the airport in Denpassar before 2:00pm. This allows for travel time to Ubud and ensures you arrive at the resort before the welcome dinner. If you need to arrive a day earlier, because of flight times, please contact Shana to book an extra night of accommodation. There is no class on this day as people will be arriving at different times.

The Welcome dinner 6:30pm at the ARMA Thai Restaurant located next to reception. 

Workshop Day 1 (Tuesday 7th January 2026)

Breakfast at the ARMA Resort (included)

9:30 am – 12:30pm: Introduction to linocut. We discuss:

  • Composition
  • Balance of black and white
  • Drawing and collecting reference images

Spend time choosing your subject matter from the gardens at the ARMA Resort. Alternatively work from your own drawings, photographs or ideas.

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch (included)

1:30pm – 3:00pm: Continue working on ideas with help one on one.

3:00pm: We go to the ARMA Museum as a group, stay as long as you like.

Workshop Day 2 (Wednesday 7th January 2026)

Breakfast at the ARMA Resort (included)

9:30am – 12:30pm: Finalise your plan and start carving. Some students make a smaller plate as a test, but advanced students may start a larger piece.

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch (included)

1:30pm – 4:00pm: Opportunity to print a test plate if progress allows.

Workshop Day 3 – Free Day (Thursday 8th January 2026)

Breakfast at the ARMA Resort (included)

Your choice! You could: plan a tour, go shopping, have a massage, explore, relax by the pool or visit a temple. 

We recommend:

  • The downhill bike tour by Bali Bike Baik
  • Taking a cooking class with ARMA’s chef
  • Learning Batik with ARMA
  • Chez Monique’s Silver Jewellery Class in Ubud

Lunch is not provided on this day as many will be out and about.

Workshop Day 4 (Friday 9th January 2026)

Breakfast at the ARMA Resort (included)

9:30am – 11:30pm: Continue working on your linocuts, many people start a larger piece on this day.

11:30pm – 12:30pm: Group discussion for teachers.

this can include:

  • The best way to set up linocut for the classroom
  • Sharing lesson plan ideas
  • Getting technical with Shana – troubleshooting linocut problems.
Non-teachers can continue to work on their pieces independently
12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch (included)

1:30pm – 4:00pm: One-on-one help with design and composition.

Workshop Day 5 (Saturday 10th January 2026)
Breakfast at the ARMA Resort (included)
9:30am – 12:30pm: Chin-collé demonstration. Continue working on your linocuts with specific help as required. 12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch (included)

1:30pm – 4:00pm: Continue on from the morning. Students will have the opportunity to make their own chin-collé coloured paper to encorperate into their linocut.

Workshop Day 6 (Sunday 11th January 2026)

Breakfast at the ARMA Resort (included)

9:30am – 12:30pm: Continue carving and printing with help as required.

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch (included)

1:30pm – 4:00pm: Continue on from the morning and finish printing.

Departure Day (Monday 12th January 2026)

Depending on your flight time breakfast may be included.

Transfer to the airport or your next destination is not included. Shana can assist you with organising a driver or you can pay for an ARMA resort driver to take you.
